Dr. Catherine Benedict is a NY state licensed clinical psychologist and behavioral medicine researcher with a primary focus in psycho-oncology. She specializes in developing empirically-based interventions that support patient decision making and promote adaptive behavior change and positive health outcomes. In her current position as an Assistant Professor at Northwell Health, her work focuses on adolescent and young adult cancer survivorship. She leads several studies to better understand survivors’ fertility and family-building experiences post-treatment. The goal of this work is to develop a digital health intervention to support young adult survivors as they make fertility decisions and cope with the psychological, social, logistical, and financial difficulties associated with family-building after cancer. Her other studies focus on adherence to survivorship care, financial toxicity, and patient use of digital health tools and impact on psychosocial outcomes.
