Rosemary Semler, RN

Rosemary Semler

Rosemary Semler is a Fertility Nurse Specialist in the Cancer and Fertility Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center (MSKCC). Through consultation directly with patients and families, she helps them understand the risks that treatment can pose to fertility, describes fertility preservation options, and facilitates referrals to reproductive specialists. In the post-treatment setting, she assists them to explore options for building a family. The Cancer and Fertility Program has provided consultations to thousands of patients since its inception, with 980 counseled in 2021 alone. Her other responsibilities include education of clinical staff and the development of educational materials for patients.
Prior to her work in fertility preservation, Rose held several other positions within MSKCC, including clinical nurse specialist, chemotherapy administration, and nursing leadership. Before joining MSKCC in 2003, she worked in both maternal child health and neonatal nursing.
Rose currently holds an Advanced Oncology Clinical Nurse Specialist certification and has had several articles published in peer-reviewed journals.
