In 2009, Joanne established the Cancer and Fertility Program at Memorial Sloan Kettering to ensure patients are informed about options for fertility preservation before cancer treatment and for building a family after treatment. As the Clinical Nurse Specialist for the program, her responsibilities include education and counseling of patients, development of resources for patients and clinicians, education of staff, and facilitation of clinical research within MSK related to reproductive health of cancer survivors.
