Cervivor School: A advocacy training program for cervical cancer survivors

Cervivor School is headed to Louisville, KY!

Cervivor is a 501(c)(3) organization that is dedicated to raising awareness about cervical cancer. One of its key programs is “Cervivor School.” It is a program that allows cervical cancer survivors to take their own experience and use it to help create positive change for other survivors and for newly-diagnosed patients. This in-person workshop brings together patients and survivors of cervical cancer from across the country so that they can:

  1. find peer support and connect with others who share their experience and the effect cervical cancer has had on their life, family and relationships;
  2. gain substantive knowledge about cervical cancer, its treatment and side effects, and the HPV vaccine;
  3. become a trained advocate in the fight to prevent cervical cancer deaths; and
  4. to challenge the stigma and change the narrative surrounding HPV and cervical cancer by talking about it.

Cervivor School is a key program of the Cervivor organization, which was founded by and is led by Tamika Felder. Tamika is a young adult survivor of cervical cancer who has dedicated herself to this work and become the recognized leader for this cause. She believes that Cervivor School training is a bonding, empowering experience for those who attend.

“Cervivor School gave me something that I didn’t even know that I needed.” Chellese Parker, Cervical Cancer Survivor & Cervivor School Graduate

We have the tools to end cervical cancer! Now – more than ever – is the time for us to do something about it. If you are a cervical cancer survivor sign up for the upcoming Cervivor School event taking place on August 19-21 in Louisville, KY.
